Kasi's Passenger Seat Motocross Chronicles - Texas Main Event Series

Hey everybody...Kasi here! I just wanted to update everyone on what has been going on throughout the rest of the summer.  We have been burning the road up! We have put some stinkin' miles on the ole' RV...she's a trooper!

After camp, we traveled to Norman, OK where we were invited to be the event chaplain at one of the premier national amateur motocross races in the country. We set up in the 115* heat for a week and loved on the unreached motocross community.  We held chapel services in the pit area, preached Jesus each day over the loud speaker, gave out over 50 study bibles, 150+ gallons of water, set up fans and misters for everyone to cool off under, and gave out hundreds of FCA MX water bottles. It was awesome! Our RV was the happenin' place! We were able to build a good relationship with the promoter of the race and with the track owner, which both guys already asked us to come back for next year and were very appreciative of us being there.
Here is our rig set up at the NMA Grand Nationals in Norman, OK

We handed out free water and had misters and fans set up to cool off

Our sandwich board that we recently got for people to see what and when we are doing services, etc.
We also handed out free FCA MX water bottles as well as free Bibles

Right now we are traveling the Texas Main Event Series. This is an awesome opportunity for us! The promoter of the series, Larry Hughes, just so happens to be on our board and has asked us to be one of the title sponsor for this series.  This allows Scott to be able to do the Chapel services at each race over the loud speaker to literally thousands of people. He only gets 5-7 minutes, but that is huge!! The series goes through the middle of October. We are super excited at what God is going to do through this series!!
The first race of the Main Event Series at 3 Palms Raceway...there literally were over 500 entries of just riders not to mention family and friends that were there also! The promoter of the race said there were 3,000 people in the parking lot that night! There were probably 1,000 at the chapel service! This picture doesn't do it justice...couldn't get a pic of everyone there were so many!

Scott hanging out with the kiddos.

It is so cool how God is opening doors for us to spread His Word! We are starting to build more and more relationships within the motocross community and people are really recognizing us more and more and make the extra effort to come and visit with us at the track and hang out in our pits. We are having a blast doing this ministry and couldn't think of a better fit for us right now!! We are so thankful to be used by Him!!

Landri update for those who want to know...:)

Landri turned 5 mths. this week! We can't believe it!! Time has flown by! People always tell you that but you don't really realize it till you have your own. She is rolling all over the place...can't hardly leave her for a second! She is babbling away and learns new noises everyday. She started rice cereal a couple of weeks ago and loves it! She is a little porker :) She has a very sweet spirit and is very smiley! Everyone says she looks like her daddy...although momma thinks different ;)  I am so thankful that I get to stay at home with her and raise her myself. We have a lot of fun together! She still travels really well and loves all the noise at the track. It doesn't phase her at all! She is definitely a moto baby at heart. She is quite the attraction at the track as well, which works good for us because she brings the people to us lol...flaunt the baby, get the people lol.  Overall, she is a really good baby and it has been so fun watching her grow and learn new things daily!
Landri Jo listening to daddy preach with Renea

Nothing like a good ole' bath in the RV :)

Landri Jo in her swing at the rig...can't forget about our son Bond. He loves the races and is a great moto dog :)

Post Camp Video Update

Hey guys!

Take a few minutes to watch the video and look at the pictures below to hear an update about some of the AWESOME things that God has been doing this summer through Texas FCA MX!

Between the three FCA Motocross camps we were able to be a part of this summer (IN, TX, and OK), over 100 decisions were made for the Lord! Literally, thousands of families are hearing the Gospel and being impacted for Christ through Texas FCA Motocross, and we couldn't do it without you. Thank you!

Hunter Poarch, Rob Stiers, and Zach Vanluvanee all came to know the Lord at Tx camp!

A few of the younger kids from huddle 1 loving camp!

After altar call, professional mechanic, Brandon Anderson (raised Jehovah witness), confessed, "I've never seen God be so real in my whole life. Now I've got to decide if I'm going to leave everything I've been raised to believe [being a Jehovah witness] to follow your Jesus." Please be in prayer with us, for Brandon, and all those that made decisions for Christ this summer!

Also make sure to like our personal Facebook pages, our TX FCA MX Facebook page (Facebook.com/txfcamx), and our blog to see regular updates of all that goes on in our crazy FCA MX world!

Pre Camp Update

Hey y'all! Kasi here...We are on the road again after a very busy week! We have been finalizing our camp all week. We are headed to Decatur to start setting up for camp to start on Monday morning. Campers and parents will be starting to show up Sunday afternoon through Sunday night. Scott and I helped out with the Texas camp last summer before we were on staff and there were 19 campers. Scott and I have prayed for 36 or more campers this summer and God has answered!! Right now we have 43 campers signed up and are confident that we will have some walk up registrations on Monday morning. That is not including staff, volunteers, instructors, or parents that will be at the camp as well. All together we are looking at 90-100 people! God is so faithful and we are overwhelmed with His goodness! We have been planning this camp since January and are so excited to see what God is going to do! Please be in prayer for these families and riders. 85% of the motocross community is unchurched and have never heard who Jesus is. Pray that lives would be forever changed and that camp runs smoothly. Also, please pray for Scott, Landri, and I as we travel, as well as strength and energy. After our camp we go straight to Oklahoma camp to help with that camp as well! We look forward to let y'all know how it goes! Thanks and God Bless!!

Blessings,
Scott, Kasi, and Landri Jo

On that grind like coffee. Folgers

Hey guys!

Scott here. Lots of cool stuff happening in our world right now. On top of having our first child, the ministry is growing and gaining momentum in a big way. As I sit here still trying to recover from a lack of sleep last night after getting home at 1:30 from a trackside bible study in East Houston and a baby that decided to wake up at 5:00am this morning to play, I'm still way energized by all that has been happening lately and all that is coming up. Let me tell you a little about it...

A cool deal, that actually just happened last night, came right after the bible study that we did at BnC MX Park after practice. I had been talking with some of our camp staff for nearly an hour afterwards, doing a little training for the upcoming camp, and finally got back to the truck to start loading my stuff up and take my girls home, when one of the new faces from the bible study comes around the corner... Kyle (19ish) had been waiting around for me for an hour and I could tell he was eager to talk about something. Not knowing the dude from Adam, I didn't really know what to expect, but after a little small talk, Kyle starts pouring his heart out to me like I had been his pastor for years... "I've been going through some really rough times" he tells me as I'm strapping my bike in the trailer, "and I've strayed pretty far from God, so I was glad you invited me to bible study... I figured I would give it [God] another shot."... As he continues to go in to detail about the rough things that he has been going through, and just how far he really had strayed, and as I continue to give him the very non-sugar coated biblical advice he needed, I honestly was thinking, "this kid may get up and walk away if I don't ease up a little!" but he didn't. He actually did the opposite. "that's a lot better advice than what my friends have been giving me." he said. I found myself on a big time high on the way home at midnight afterwards simply because I know God is using us here. There is absolutely no reason for a guy like Kyle to pour out his heart to an almost perfect stranger other than that God has placed us here to meet a specific need for guys just like him.

Secondly, I just found out that Jordan (the kid Kasi talked about in her last post) has been ordered by the court to move from Indiana to Texas to live with his dad (who doesn't want anything to do with him...). I've got his phone number and am hoping to be able to make contact with him soon and hopefully get him plugged in to a local church and hopefully one of our TX FCA MX Teams. Please pray for Jordan, his situation, and that he is receptive to us reaching out to him during an obviously hard time.

Lastly, for now, in about an hour we will head to what is, for many Houston area amateur motocrossers, one of the biggest events of the year (the Regional Loretta Lynn Qualifier at Three Palms). This is the make or break for whether or not these racers will qualify for the most prestigious amateur race of the year (The Loretta Lynn Amateur National) in Tennessee. The track owner has given us a primo location to park the rig, and free reign to do two chapel services after his mandatory riders meetings on Saturday and Sunday. With hundreds in attendance, it's an awesome opportunity to preach the Gospel, especially considering that probably 95% of them are not involved in any type of church, and that many of them have never heard the Gospel! Pray that my words are His!

I could go on about stories just like Kyle's and Jordan's, but I'll save that for another day!

Be blessed and be a blessing to someone today!
Scott

Read Me First...

Hey y'all... Make sure and start reading the updates from the bottom to the most previous blog. That way you are reading them in Chronological order. So start with Kasi's Passenger Seat Motocross Chronicles - 6/1/12 and end with the one titled Indiana MX Camp. Hope that makes sense!

Kasi's Passenger Seat Motocross Chronicles - Indiana MX Camp

Hey y'all! We are headed back to Texas today from Indiana FCA MX Camp. Wow!!! What a week! God really showed up at this camp! The camp was held at Country Lake Christian Retreat in Henryville, IN. The facility was beautiful! This camp was a residential camp so the kids got dropped off by their parents on Monday, and stayed at the camp facility until Friday. The week was full of training with some of the top riders in the country, fun games and activities for the kids, swimming, and lots of Jesus! Let's just say that by the end of the week the kids were wore out!

Steve Hudson, AMA Pro Supercross and Motocross Chaplain, was our Chaplain for the week and he really brought the Word! After a week worth of preaching on being "In the Zone" with Christ, Thursday night Steve did an altar call after the message. There were 67 campers at this camp and 27 gave their life to the Lord!!!!! So amazing to see! God is so faithful! The Lord continues to confirm the reason we are doing what we do! It's all about Him and bringing others to Him!

I can't help but get emotional when I think about those kids and some of their stories on where they came from and the situations that they are in; Jordan and Myra- Their mom is in prison and their dad lives in Texas and won't have anything to do with them, so they live with their grandparents in Indiana. They were both broken to the point of tears on Thursday, and accepted the Lord and were baptized on Friday! Also, Cory (14) who's dad died recently and his step mom spent all the life insurance money that was supposed to go to him. His real mom lives 15 minutes down the road from him, but takes no responsibility for him and has zero relationship with him. Knowing his tough story, some of the Indiana FCA MX Team members sponsored Cory to come to camp. On Thursday night, he stood broken and weeping on the altar and gave his life to the Lord as well! God is so good and sovereign!

This camp produced so much fruit and just made us that more excited at the opportunity He has given us to serve in this ministry and to see what He is going to do in the rest of the camps across the country this summer!

Please continue to be in prayer for our Texas camp coming up June 25th-28th as well as the other 9 camps going on this summer around the country. Last summer FCA MX had a total of 500 campers! We are praying for that number to continue to grow for the Lord! Glory to God!!!!

Kasi's Passenger Seat Motocross Chronicles - The Drive.

Hey y'all! We made it to Indiana! It should have taken us 15 hours to get here but it turned into 18 ish due to being stuck in traffic for 3 hours! Overall we had a nice trip up here.  The drive was pretty and Landri was really good!

We are headed to the campgrounds right now to get ready for tomorrow morning. Campers and their families will be here bright and early in the morning. Indiana FCA MX is the most established MX Camp we have in FCA. It is where FCA MX all started. So it will be good for Scott and I to experience how a well run camp goes and will help us to get ideas and training for our camp in a couple of weeks. We are really excited!

Ryan Villopoto will be an instructor at this camp which for those of you who don't know, he is the top rider in the world. He won everything you could possibly win last year! This will be his first FCA MX camp to instruct at.  The reason he is instructing at this camp is because of the relationship that was built with him through Steve Hudson, our FCA MX Pro Chaplain. Steve travels the AMA Pro Supercross circuit doing Chapel services before the races for the pros. After many years of Steve pouring into these riders, always showing up, and being consistent, guys like Villopoto want to be a part of what God is doing in FCA MX. It is really cool how God works! So of course we are really anxious to meet him and hear what the Lord has done in His life.

We will keep you posted on how this week goes! Please be in prayer for us and our safety along with all the campers and families that will be coming to this camp. We are praying for lives to be changed! Glory to God!!

Until next time...
Scott, Kasi, and Landri Jo

Kasi's Passenger Seat Motocross Chronicles - 6/1/12

Hey y'all! Kasi here...right from the front seat of the RV, headed up I-45 to Henryville, Indiana. We have packed the whole house I think lol. We will be helping with the FCA MX Camp up there. We will be gone for 10 days. This is our first big road trip with Landri Jo.  She is being a trooper so far, sleeps most of the time which makes for a nice drive. We just wanted to update everyone on what all God is doing down here in Houston MX.  He is really working through this tribe of people!

We just got back this last weekend from Wortham, TX where we spent the weekend promoting for our Texas camp this summer. The race was at Freestone MX track.  There was somewhere around 25-30,000 people there for Round 2 of the AMA pro outdoor nationals and for 2 days of Amateur races! We just got our RV and trailer wrapped with FCA MX graphics...it looks awesome! We had a guy donate the money to get it done just in time for last weekends race. It makes a huge difference having graphics! People notice that our ministry is there and it helps us to not look like everyone else. We can tell people to come see us in the pits and they know where we are.  We were able to hand out flyers and talk with families about our ministry and camp this summer.

A lot of what we are doing right now is relationship building.  We feel like this is the most important part of our ministry right now. Although sometimes it feels like we aren't getting much accomplished, we are realizing that God's timing is perfect and it takes time to build a ministry. Especially in a new town, not knowing anyone. Here lately we have been seeing the fruit from being consistent. People in the motocross world want to see consistency, someone that will show up and do what they say they are going to. We spend no less than 2 days a week or more at local tracks.  Scott rides with the kids and we are just focusing on spending time with people, getting to know them and their families. Then on the weekends we travel to wherever the races are. We have been following the local race series. They also just started the Main Event Series which we will continue to follow as well. The same people race through the whole series which allows us to spend time with the same people and build those relationships.

After we get back from Indiana, our focus will be our Texas camp. It is June 25-28th at Oak Hill MX in Decatur. We are so excited!! We have AMA pros Andrew Short, Kevin Johnson, local Houston pro Chase Spears, and Stephenville native Riley Pemberton as our instructors this year. Great godly guys that are stinkin fast on a motorcycle! It is for all age groups. They will get 4 days of awesome training not only on the motorcycle but will get Jesus everyday as well. We will have chapel services everyday. Micah Smith will be leading worship with the College Life band and Bryan Jackson with Vertical Adrenaline Ministries will be our Chaplain. Vertical Adrenaline is another great Motocross ministry that we have teamed up with to bring the Gospel. We will be grouping the kids up by age group, and skill level to form small groups called Huddles. This is a more intimate setting for them to dig more into the Gospel. Each group will have a "Huddle leader".  It is a trackside camp, so families will bring RV's or will get hotel rooms. The whole week is not just focused on the kids but on the parents as well.  We minister to the whole family, which is awesome! We get to see God change families! We would love for y'all to come check it out if y'all are available! It's a great way for you to see first hand what your support allows us to do. Our main goal for camp is for lives to be saved and changed by our Creator! We would like for all of you to join us in prayer for this camp and the families that will be coming and for those that have not yet fully decided to come. We are committed to pray everyday up until camp for these families and that God would be glorified through this camp.

Overall, we couldn't be more thankful for God calling us into this ministry! We are so thankful for your support, encouragement, and prayers! We couldn't do it without you!! Y'all are just as much apart of what God is doing here as we are! So glad to have y'all on our team!

Your Teammates in Christ,
Scott, Kasi, and Landri Jo Willingham

Welcome!

Thank you for taking the time to check out what God is doing through Texas FCA Motocross!

Your prayers and financial support are what makes this ministry possible. Without your heart to grow God's kingdom, none of this is possible. For that, we could not be more humbled or thankful.

ALSO: thank you for using this electronic format to stay updated on ministry happenings! This will save the ministry a substantial amount of money each year... and who reads paper letters any more?! ... with that being said, if you would still like a paper newsletter mailed to you, please don't hesitate to ask ;)! We still have a handful of printed newsletters that we will be sending out for our supporters who prefer hard copies.

THE PLAN FOR THIS BLOG:
         1) Keep watch here for updates throughout the month about all that is going on in our world.
         2) Once a month, I will email and/ or text out a link to our video newsletter update that will summarize ministry highlights over the past ~30 days or so. If you prefer to receive this link via text (easy, free, no junk texts, no unwanted texts, unsubscribe any time) simply text 'fcamxtx' to '90210'. I'll send you a brief text with a link about once a month (no more than 2 or 3 texts/ month total on special occasions or when we have urgent prayer requests).

God is good and is doing BIG things through FCA Motocross! STAY TUNED!

Thanks again!
