Seasons

Greetings Faithful FCA MX Partners!

Seasons

------------------------------------------------------------

You hear it often, but there really is a season for everything. Maybe that's why God decided it was important to include the book of Ecclesiastes in the Bible... "For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven." Ecc 3:1

The Now

The season we find ourselves in currently, is one that honestly had Kasi and I wondering if we were actually "doing" our "job" here. In order for us to be with our moto-people, the norm for us is to be at the races about 3 out of 4 weekends each month, and to be at the track during the week pretty much every week of the month. During our first year of ministry in a new place, with very few relationships in place, this was a 100% necessity, and was without a doubt where God wanted us to be. But, for the last couple months, due partially to weather and  scheduling conflicts, but due mostly to God, we have found ourselves at the track a little less, and with a specific handful of people a lot more.

The Struggle

The issue we face with this season God has us in, is that we LOVE all of our moto-people. We want to spend as much time with as many of them as possible, getting to know ALL of them on an intimate level, sharing the Gospel along the way. Spending more time with fewer people, seems unnatural...

The Fruit

Kent (a 2012 TX FCA MX Camper) has become a good friend of mine over the last year, and even more so over the last 3 months. We chat on an almost daily basis nowadays. A couple months ago, while discussing the sovereignty of God after a day of moto, he opened up to me about his journey in the faith, and his genuine frustrations throughout. Kent, like me, is a critical thinker, and wants to know the "root issue" rather than simply a pretty answer.

Kent recently told me that, "I have walked blindly with God in the past, and I've also stood on the sidelines denying God... this summer, when I
was riding all the time, I became bored and sad of motocross. It wasn't filling me up like I thought it should... I see now, that I needed God. Thanks for reaching out bro."
Kent is in a crucial time in his walk. He recently told me concerning his life change, "I never believed people when they said stuff like this, but now I that I experienced this myself I am now aware of Gods true power to work miracles."

God is working in Kent's life, and we are thankful to be a part of it!

The Model

Jesus.  Jesus alone is our model... or at least, He should be. How did the King of Kings go about His ministry? Jesus often spent time speaking to, caring for, and living in legitimate community with the multitudes. However, He spent much more of his time with His outer circle of ~100 or so. But, He didn't stop there; He spent exponentially more time with His inner circle of 12. The thing I find interesting and encouraging, is that ALL of these people were important to Jesus, and all of these facets of Jesus' ministry were important in their own regard. He neglected none of them. Jesus affected life change to thousands, and Jesus affected life change to 12.

The Shift

God has called us to so much more than big events, fancy t-shirts, cool videos, and elaborate programs. He has called us to love people.

This season change within FCA MX has been such a blessing, and we are confident that huge culture change, within the MX community, will happen as God truly changes one person at a time. One life at a time.

The Hope

Jesus. Jesus is our hope, and we are hopeful in Him! While we were wondering if we were even "doing" our "job", because we were spending less time with more people, and more time with less people, this is how God has had it designed all along.

Thank you for making life change possible.

In Christ,
Scott, Kasi, and Landri Jo
